How it works

The world in the Equal Earth projection, printed on a sheet of fabric seen face-on, the rubber-sheet picture of gravity from above. Drop a mass and the sheet sinks into a well, dragging the continents in towards it.

The masses pull on each other too, so two or more fall into orbit, sweeping their wells across the oceans, and merge when they collide. It’s the same engine as Tube Warp, with the world as its artwork.
